October 21-22, 2011 – Sports Extravaganza & Goal Ball event is a very special day for visually impaired children. This year it was very successful, as it is every year. Each child participates in his/her chosen games; even if they need assistance in walking or running. The proud look on the face of each child tells the story of why Lions consider this one of the most important events of the year the Lions Club Camp in Kerrville Texas.
9-10 March 2012 – Advanced Goal ball is attended by visually impaired children from many different states; it has become a well attended and exciting event for Lions and Participants.
November 2011 – Annual Pecan sales is currently taking place now; so Dallas White Rock Lions. Orders scheduled for delivery prior to Thanksgiving should be ready for pick up about November 9-13.
As soon as pecans are shelled and ready for Lions to pick up; we will meet at Lion Shirley Goings-Lindsey’s home to wrap special order boxes of pecans.
A second order can be turned in for Christmas delivery of new crop pecans; but orders can only be made by the case There are eight, 3 lb boxes in each case.
November 14, 2011 – Thanksgiving dinner for Dallas White Rock Lions Club to be held at Lion Susan Farb’s home. Important to get head count in as soon as possible; email your RSVP to Secretary Liz Fleskes.
November 19, 2011 – Zone meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Methodist Hospital, 403 Campbell Road, Richardson, Texas. Lions should park in front of the hospital.
November 19, 2011 – Movie for Chidren will be held at the the UA Theatre, located at McCree Road and LBJ. McCree Road runs along side of Sam’s Club located on Northwest Hwy, and McCree Road. Lion Volunteers must be on hand by 8:30 for arriving children and parents. Two movies are being shown: Shrek 4 and Monsters vs. Aliens.
I am in need of assistance with eyecare if possible. I am 63 years of agea Dallas county resident since. 93/94 . I do not have health insura
nce and have not seen an eye doctor since 94/95. Since last dThursday I have developed
flashing bright light with a
shower of floaters indicating a
possible torn retina requiring
