Dallas White Rock Lions look forward to seeing all the diabetc children who plan to attend North Camp New Horizon and South Camp New Horizon; they usually occur the last week of May and first week of June.  Lions, please let your schools, neighbors and friends know these camps will be coming up in 2013; they teach children how to have fun while dealing with this disease.  Nurses, volunteers, contributors and Lions are on hand to assist in classes held by the nurses; as well as playing games, the favorite day is always Thursday, when each child is taught how to put a worm on the hook to catch his/her fish!  Friday is when Lions of 2X1 and Dallas White Rock Lions cook hamburgers and hot dogs for a celebration of the last day of camp on Friday for campers, parents, volunteers, Lions, nurses and doctors who are at the camp.  This is a fun camp for diabetic children, so please bring them to the camps each morning!

“Thank you” to all who responded to our Dallas White
Rock Blog. The Webmaster is unable to respond to all the many notes received by  the website; however, your comments and praise is appreciated.

We are proud of our Dallas White Rock Lions Club, one of our members became a Lion in 1952; as well as many other members who have served at their  own expense for many years. Any money the club takes in from fund raisers goes  back into the club to be spent on our many charities: Magic show in May for  children; Movie Day for children in November; Eye Clinics; Visually impaired Baby’s  Day Out; Diabetic Camp; Visually impaired as well as hearing impaired children attend summer camp at Kerrville, Texas; uniforms for area schools; fees Four paid memberships are paid to Texas School Nurses Association for area school nurses;  and many other things the club participates in for the Dallas area.

Meetings held each 2nd & 4th Monday of the month at Highland
Park Cafeteria, Casa Linda Shopping Center, Garland Road & Buckner Blvd.

Lions who plan to do Gavel Travel should check with other members; as it takes two in attendance to get credit for Gavel Travel.

Most club prefer to have visitors at their first meeting; since they usually have guest speakers; second meeting dates are usually used for business plans.

Potential members, out of tow visitors and Gavel Travel clubs are always welcome to Dallas White Rock Lions Club.  Meeting are held each month on 2nd and 4th Mondays at Highland Park Cafeteria, Casa Linda Shopping Center.
